Advanced Interactive eXecution ( AIX ) is a proprietary Unix Operating system and its first version "AIX version1" introduction was in 1986 for IBM 6150 RT systems, was based on UNIX System V releases 1 and 2. AIX Version 3 released for POWER bases RS/6000 platform Later AIX 4,4.1,4.3,AIX/5L,6.1 are released and latest is 7.1 Beta version. Since 1990, AIX is OS for RS6000 systems which was later renamed as IBM eServer, pSeries, then IBM System P,and now IBM Power Systems.
